Well, you can't go by me - my DS - who is 9 - only learned last year, finally.
He's the type of kid that if he can't do it right away - he gives up.
However - my girlfriends kids learned at about 4 - and I was shocked!
But, I don't know what the norm is.

I think it all depends....I remember I was the last in my family to learn - I was 7....and my brothers are younger than me

My son learned at a few months shy of 6. My daughter, who is now about a month and a half shy of 6 is in the process of learning.

I think I was 8 or 9 when I started to ride a bike without training wheels.

I think I was 7. One of my BILs was 2. A kid I babysat was 4. Each kid is simply different. DD has no real interest in even riding her bike AND for some stupid reason it's at my MIL's so she never gets to ride it so she might be 30 by the time she learns.
