At 7-9 months (Question re crib toys)

What, if anything, do you have in the crib for DC?

We currently have nothing - took down the mobile. Wondering if I should get a toy for inside - but does that distract them from sleeping?

We only have a mobile hanging above her crib, which is coming down soon because she can actually reach it now. We had an aquarium, but she moved around so much at night that she kept bumping her head on it.

I actually leave a couple of toys in Nina's crib. She has a "doll", her aquarium and little rings that she likes to chew on. I know you're not really supposed to keep things in the crib this young, but it works for her.

Re: At 7-9 months (Question re crib toys)

I have a few stuffed animals in Elizabeth's crib. She has her lovey, which is one of those animal heads on a blanket and she has Harry which is a big stuffed bear that's almost the size of her that she LOOOVES. She snatches him from my hands every night and snuggles with him as she falls asleep.

There are a couple of other smaller stuffed animals in there that she grabs once in a while but Harry and Lovey are the two that she always sleeps with. I usually move them away from her face after she's asleep because she freaks me out with how she smushes her face in them.

Re: At 7-9 months (Question re crib toys)

He used to have a big Mickey Doll at the top of his crib (not in it) that he talked to. But I recently moved it b/c it looks like he is going for it (I find him asleep with his head smashed up against the side of the crib where Mickey is). He doesn't seem to "complain" that there's nothing in there - but I wonder if he'd enjoy having something.
I saw this in a catalog - anyone have it?

We have his mobile up and the FP Aquarium though I think the aquarium has to come off because he scurries over to it, grabs on to it, pulls himself up and stands holding it, pushing the button.

We actually have a few things. Chat Icon

A doll, two little toys like you posted, a small Giants pillow. She hardly ever plays with anything in her crib. Last night she went to bed with a Gymboree wiffle ball and an empty adult water bottle! Chat Icon She wouldnt let them go!

He takes his two favorite stuffed animals to bed with him, and if he's teething, we give him one of his teethers or this fabric book to chew on.

No, you're not mean. You're in control. In my house, Elizabeth is in control. If you met her you would understand. Just try to take Harry away from her. Try to take anything away from her, for that matter and see what happens. My baby has LUNGS and she knows how to use them!! Chat Icon

I'm mean for taking away Mickey - and DH & I are mean for playing with Ryan and semi-convincing him it's his brother Chat Icon
It's about 3-ft tall and he stares at it and talks to it so we sometimes talk to it too and lay it in the crib, or on the changing table. The other night I put him in the closet so Ryan did climb out of his crib for him - you should have seen the look on Ryan's face when I showed him where Mickey is Chat Icon

This kid is gonna need therapy Chat Icon
