Are you allowed to ask daycare workers to babysit?
At night, for a dinner out or something? (not during work hours)
I don't want to get anyone in trouble!

When I worked in daycare I got asked all the time. So did my friends. And we did. No one had a problem with it. I don't know if each daycare has different policies on that.

From what I understand that is okay...it's employing them full time (causing them to leave the center) that is a big no-no (but still done).
Teachers mention their availability to me all the time.

Lots of teachers in our center babysit the kids at night and weekends.

in ours they do....... just make sure its durring non daycare hours .
ive had teachers tell me they'd love to babysit ds...and I had one older lady telling me that people ask her but she doesn't have time to cause her own grandchildren that live in her house.

Mine has a list of the teachers that babysit that they hand out. Just ask the director. Lots of them do.

We've done it several times and it hasn't been a problem. I trust them to watch my kids at home, and the kids enjoy having someone familiar with them!
