appt. for 1st sonogram...what to expect??
i have my first sonogram appt. tomorrow and i was just wondering what exactly they do and if i need to bring anything? also is this an appt. that i can bring my husband too?
i dont know why im so nervous, guess its bc i dont know what to expect!

if you are going to have your fist sono tomorrow i would bring DH if he can make it...
you can expect blood work (or a script to get it done)
urine, BP, weight, internal exam with pap

Luckily someone told me right before I went to my 1st sono that the 1st one is an internal one. I didn't know until a coworker told me the day before. I thanked her so much for preparing me.
Oh and def bring your DH...my DH loves seeing the HB at the 1st sono.
My doc also did an internal exam, took my BP, weighed me and took a urine sample. Gave me some gift bags and some sample prenatal vitamins.

Yes, DH comes to all my appointments!..It is an internal sono. If you are due for your yearly pap you will get that done too. I am not due for one until March so I didn't get one. I got paperwork to get blood work to check my beta levels...but if you already did that you prob wont have that either!

not at all! sometimes i can make you feel like you have to pee depending on the sono tech but not painful at all

Mine didn't hurt at all. I agree that it can make you feel like you have to pee, but the sono tech made sure to tell me to empty my bladder before going in for the sono.
