Anyone's Master BR on a different floor than your DC's?

Right now they are in bassinets in our room but eventually they need to go into their room which is on a different floor than ours. When I was pregnant I didn't think it was a big deal and now I do. I feel like I will be sleeping in the guest room across from theirs for a while.

... however, when they are older and independent, it's nice to have that noise buffer.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am in the EXACT same position and felt the same while I was pregnant. Right now I plan to sleep in the guest room also. When do you plan to put them in the nursery? I am struggling with this.

we are upstairs, DD is down... it really isn't a problem at all... she is a good sleeper though, so i am not sure how much that helps things, and the one time that she was sick and up at night, DH and I took turns sleeping on the couch...

Re: Anyone's Master BR on a different floor than your DC's?

Yes. My boys nursery is on the main floor and the master bedroom is upstairs. When I was preg. I also didn't think it was a big deal. We had a crib in their room, one up in my room. I then ended up getting a cosleeper b/c the crib wasn't working out for them in the beginning.

Then when they went into the crib, we weren't ready to put them in their room and we didn't want to bring the other crib up so we borrowed one from a friend. We ended up with 2 cribs in my room and one in their nursery. It became frustrating b/c my boys would not sleep through the night. I was losing it.

At 9 mon. I decided to do CIO and had them up in my room while I slept down in theirs. My dh was the one at this point that didn't feel comfortable having them downstairs. That weekend of their 9mon. b-day we moved them into their room and bought an amazing monitor. I don't find it annoying yet to have them on a different floor. They have been sleeping great. Knock on wood!

Yes. DS room is downstairs and we are upstairs. He slept in our room for the first 5 months and then we transitioned him to the crib. We slept in our guest room downstairs the first few nights until he was adjusted. I hate that he is downstairs.
