Anyone going to use a universal infant car seat carrier?

Is anyone going to get a universal type car seat carrier and not a travel system and then get a stroller for when they grow out of the car seat?

External Image

We like the Chicco travel system, but thought maybe getting a better stroller for when they transition out of the car seat.

This is a God send! It is so easy to just plop it and go. It is lightweight also. I totally recommend it!

So you use one....When (how old/big was your baby) and what kind of stroller did you get for afterwards?

We have the Snap and Go for now, and we got the Graco Metrolite for later.

I love, love, love the Snap and Go!

We got a snug ride car seat, a snap and go and a peg preggo for when the baby out grows the car seat or when we need something more than the snap and go.

I didn't like any of the travel systems designs and wasn't too crazy about the overall size of the graco quatro tour (which most of the graco travel systems are) so we did all the pieces separate.

We registered for the Graco snap and go since I have the Graco snugride infant seat. For afterwards, we registered for the Pliko P3.

how long can you expect to use the snap & go for?

This is where I get lost in what to get.

What type stroller did you search under for afterwards? Fullsize, midsize, etc?

I am getting the Graco Snug Ride infant car seat (and britax marathon for later). I am getting 2 bases (one for my car, one for DH's).

We'll have a snap and go for that and then then Ingelsina Zippy plus bassinette feature.

What type of stroller you use afterwards is up to you and what you do. QUOTE]

That is why now I am questioning the travel system....in an ideal world I plan to take her on LOTS of walks, the park, and such. So I wonder if the Chicco travel system will hold up. But what if I find I am not walking as much as I hoped because I work? Baby Bargains mentioned the universal and that is what got me thinking......Lord I feel another trip to Babysrus coming!Chat Icon

ITA! I used the Snap and Go the entire time my DD was in the infant seat and then moved her to her stroller when she went in a big girl car seat. It save a lot of wear and tear on the stroller.

we plan on using the snap & go as well.....I actually didn't register for another stroller, we decided to wait and see how long the baby can use that, then make a decision for our next stroller
