Anyone ever go on a job interview whiile PG?

I'm currently unemployeed and trying to keep the faith in knowing that everything happens for a reason. It's so hard to though, considering the situation I'm in.
I've been freelancing for a year and have a job interview tomorrow. The thing is, my friend set it up for me, and she asked that I be honest and tell them about the pregnancy. I'm thinking, "Who is going to hire a PG girl?" On the other hand, I've heard it's not unheard of.... So, I'm going to offer minimum maternity leave etc...

Just wondering if any of you ladies have ever gotten a new job while PG? What did you say on the interview?

Honestly, I am looking for a new job too. I wouldn't tell them until you receive an offer. It would eat me up if I didn't get it, I would always be wondering why.....

I wouldn't disclose that you are pg until you have an offer.... You are not obligated to tell them.

Yeah, I know but my friend has asked me to, since it's her boss and she referred me. She doesn't want it to come out after I get the job and make her look bad....

Stuck b/t a rock and a hard place- oh well.....

Just talk to your friend and tell her that you are not comfortable divulging that information so early in the process. How do you even bring it up during an interview - "I really want this job and oh BTW I'm pregnant"

You are not under any obligation legally to tell them you are pregnant. In fact, should the person interview you ask you any questions regarding your married life, pregnancy, sexual orientation, etc those are grounds for legal action. I personally would not mention it.

You should just tell your friend afterwards that it didn't come up at all in the interview. Let her tell him your're pregnant if she's so concerned.

I just got a new job and I am 13 weeks along. I told them when I got the offer, and just said before you go on and confirm the offer you need to know x, y, z. They were very cool about it, but I gave them the chance to get out.

ETA: They were concerned about my desires to work after the baby was born, but I just reaffirmed that I planned on takin 3 months leave but then I would be back.

Re: Anyone ever go on a job interview whiile PG?

I wanted to wait until an offer came through and I've spoken to my friend..
She said they'd respect me more if they knew upfront (yeah right).

I've come to terms with it, just wanted to know if anyone else was in the same boat.
I'm 13 weeks and starting to show. It's not going to be a secret for much longer anyway. I have been racking my brain as to how to bring it up and what I'll offer- minimal maternity and I will be going back after the baby. I can work from home too, as I have an office in my house.

Thanks for your responses!!!

When I was PG with my 1st son I was 18 weeks PG when I started a new job. I didn't tell them I was PG when they hired me. I was able to hide it at the interview. I told them 2 weeks later and they were happy for me. It was a small family owned company though. IMO I wouldn't tell them right away. How far along are you?

I got offered a promotion while pregnant - not really the same thing, but I was nervous about it b/c I wanted the job and was shocked when they offered it to me!
