Anyone ever get an above ground pool from Island Rec?
We are thinking about gettting an above pool and I have seen ads. fro Isalnd Rec. Anyone ever buy from them and have them install the pool?

We do- no complaints. We got a good price and they did a nice job putting it up, now I just to get DH to learn how to maintain it the right way!

what size are you looking at?? we are looking also and we found another place called Poseidon Recreational in Melville and they have really good prices and it comes with free installation

My parents just had a 4ft round installed last week. Its very nice. The people at Island Rec are very helpful!

We got our pool at Island Rec and had it for 15 years and always got all of our stuff there. They have good sales with the "VIP" membership. I love them!

A co-worker was dealing with Island Rec for her semi inground and had nothing but problems with them. She swtiched to a smaller company and is so much happier. She had another pool like 15 years ago from island rec and said then they were great but now she feels they have gotten too big to care.

Same here, this is my problem too- next year I will go with a different company for my pool needs!

We went with Poseidon, they have better overall service, not a huge fan of Island Rec for big ticket purchases

Prices are good...service companies installing were good.. as far as their products they sell...JUNK... from chemicals to accessories, u are better off going somewhee else (small pool store).

I agree get your chemicals elsewhere. Make sure to get everything in writing though. We just got a new liner installed by them and we ran into extra charges we weren't aware of.

The *free* installation isn't exactly free anyway. It's usually up to 2 inches of leveling, every inch over that is something like $100.
My dh's cousin worked at both Island Rec and Harrows. He said that Harrows low end pools are equivalent to Island Rec's high end pools. Having worked at both stores, he recommended that we buy the pool from Harrows.
