Anyone doing the Komen 5K in Central Park this weekend? Also, a general race question, too.

For thsoe who have raced before, is it okay to stop and walk? We are doing a team from school and most are doing the walk, but about 5 of us are doing the run. 2 are experienced runners with endurance, DH and I are still working on the endurance, and another is not a runner but wants to be with us. I said I'd walk with her every few minutes if she needed to. Is that terrible?

yes it's okay to walk, just make sure to move over to the side before you do so. that way you'll hopefully avoid anyone behind you crashing into you. good luck!

Good luck with the run. I'm sure you can walk for parts if you need to. I'm doing the walk with my brother. I hope it doesn't rain.

The best place to walk is through the water stops. I do this if it's an especially hot day and I need the break.
