Anybody have a toddler who shared a room with a newborn?

Roman's sleep patterns have been pretty bad lately. We set up baby #3's crib a few weeks ago, they will be sharing a room. Just wanted to hear other people's experiences as I'm not sure how it's gonna work.

Re: Anybody have a toddler who shared a room with a newborn?

I am mentally preparing for this. DS will be 22 months when DC comes and DS is the Lightest sleeper!!

I plan on having DC sleep with me in my room until he/she sleeps through the night. Then I plan on transitioning him/her into DS's room.

I am having panic attacks about how/if this is going to work

We will be doing the same thing with DS with this baby comes. DD will stay in the bassinet in our room for the first few months, then she will go into her crib which is in DS's room.

this is what we are doing as well. Do you have a crib set up yet, or just the bassinet in your room?

We will have the bassinet in our room but the crib (which was DS's) is already set up. I just need to wash DD's bedding and put it on the crib.

my toddler (2 yrs old) and my 6 month old share a room. normally it is okay cause the baby sleeps until 5am then i take her to my room feed her and put her back to sleep. it is only getting difficult now that my 6 month old is teething and wakes up irritable in the middle of the night.

I'm preparing for this in the fall (baby #2 will sleep with us at first in a bassinet). We have a 4 bedroom but it is 2 up and 2 down - eventually they will both have their own room but for now I'm not comfortable with a 2 year old or infant on another floor alone so for now they will share a room. The new baby is a girl so that makes things easier. I'm am dreading putting them together though b.c DD still goes thru stages where she wakes 1 time at night.
