Any teachers out there? Cover letter and resume question
I am looking into applying for a teaching job. I am not certified but I have close to two years experience teaching in a classroom. I have just started taking credits toward my master's. I have done elemenatary but would be willing to do middle school. Would any teachers out there be able to direct me to an appropriate site for good resume and cover letter samples? Or perhaps anyone out there willing to share anything they know? I really want to get out of what I am doing now but want to get an excellent resume and letter out there because I know it is going to be really tough!! TIA for any help!!!

what is your provisional cert. in? Elem. or middle/high school?

I taught for a short time as a replacement in NYC public school, but I don't think I have the provisional. I forgot what they had termed it at the time but I was someone set to complete the steps but I was minus the undergraduate ed credits and I had not taken the tests. I actually forgot what this was called.

Without certification, can't you only work in private schools?

Yes, pretty much only independent schools at this point. I think some charter schools will hire uncertified teachers as well.
