Any moms live in a 2 bedroom apt with 2 kids?
Dh and I are already looking for a new complex for next year. This one just seems to be too far from our family.
Most of the apartments are only 2 bedrooms. Right now we have 3 and love it, but would rather live closer.
Is it hard? How is space? Do you mind sharing where you live?

We have a 2 bedroom apt and we will be there with 2 kids in March 2009 when #2 comes
The bedroom is big enough for a toddler bed and a crib. I will need to be organized when it comes to storing their clothes and toys.
I would have liked to have 2 separate rooms for them...since with sleep schedules I am unsure how it will turn out....but there is no other choice for us.
We have to make it work--oh, we live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

i am thinking it will work too, i guess its going to be weird going from 3 down to 2.
they both have twin beds with drawers underneath. They dont actually have any other furniture then that because they have a huge closet each right now.
I'm just so unsure of what to do and don't want to regret it.
I kind of regret moving out here in the first place since my family won't drive the 35 minutes to visit us.

This is the same way with us and #2 will also we coming in March of 2009. We also have to make it work and we live in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

What area are you looking in? In helping friends/family find rentals, sometimes I've found renting a house or townhouse is similarly priced to the apartments in a complex.
But i know people with 2 in a 2 bedroom - storage seems to be an issue, but they make it work

I know the one on broadway ave in holbrook by toys rus has 2 bdrms and a loft that my friend uses as her 3rd bdrm...and you'd be closer to us (different place of course).

holbrook/holtsville/sayville/bohemia. Somewhere around there would be perfect for us. Because it would also cut down on DH's long commute home. We actually would rather live closer to SUnrise if possible too.

devonshire in Hauppauge has 3 bedrooms if that is more in the area you are looking

You also might want to try Atlantic Point in Bellport. They have gorgeous 3 BR in that community.

Fairfield Townhomes have 2bdrms and a den (which is a good enough size to be a 3rd bedroom)
The townhomes are pretty nice, although I have heard conflicting opinons on "Fairfield" as a whole.
I think every development has its flaws, so you gotta make your own judegement.

I'm worried about the same thing. We're going to be moving from a 3BR house to a 2BR apartment (unless we can find an affordable 3BR apt). It's going to be soooo hard.  They're going to share a room obviously. I think it's going to be harder on me then on them. I just keep telling myself, it's only temporary!!!

We have a small 3 bedroom house but our boys (almost 3 and 1.5 yrs) share a room and it isnt bad at all.

We live in a 1 bdrm with 1 child!
We gave up space to have short commutes (Manhattan). It is working for us while DD is young, but I am ready for more space when our lease is up!
I definitely think a 2bdrm with 2 kids will work if you need it to. I shared a bedroom with 3 siblings for three years when I was young. I turned out fine.

I have 3 kids in a 2 BR right now and that stinks but when it was 2 it was perfectly fine !! Ours is on the market now we need a 3 BR but I wish I could stay !! I live In Port Jefferson Sation
