antibiotics ? for uti
I was in the hospital on thursday for a kidney stone, was not in exrutiating pain, but pain. I have been feeling better and today i coughed and felt a pop in my lower right back, where my kidney pain is/was.. i instantlybsaw stars and was unable to move much at all. Dh had to come home and take me to the hospital. They say I must have disturbed the stone. I also have a slight UTI. They pescribed me an antibiotic, macrobid. I filled the script and looked it up online. All things i have found sy not safe in third trimester. I a,m 38 weeks. Also, the warnings label from the drug store says do not take in third trimester. Ibam gonna callmy dr tomorrow am, but wtf?! Anyone take this dyring third trimester? I am in a lot of pain. I need some relief.

I would def not take it. I think it's horrible that they even prescribed it! They didn't even check if it was safe. Call your dr and ask him to prescribe you something else ASAP.

I agree. I wouldn't take it. I also don't think it will do much to help your pain right away. It will clear up the infection, but not give instant pain relief. So I'd wait and get something safer.

I took it all throughout my pregnancy to surpress a uti as per my ob. My ds was born fine.

Yup, until the day he was born. I didn't even think to check if if was safe since my ob is the one who prescribed it to me but like I said, ds is totally fine.

It is a pregnancy category b. I just looked if on the program we use in the hospital.

So did I. I think I started around 10 weeks and continued on a small dose daily until he was born.
