Another parking issue.. what do we think about those who deliberately park in the midde of two spots so that no one can park near their car?

I notice the same 2 SUV's who both park in the center of TWO spots in the parking lot at work.

Would yo do anything? Would you have them towed? Would you say anything to these drivers - would it matter if that was the only spot left or not? Just curious.

Re: Another parking issue.. what do we think about those who deliberately park in the midde of two spots so that no one can park near their car?

This aggrevates me to NO end.
NO END!
Especially when spots are limited- like now with a lot of spots in parking lots being taken up by those huge mounds of plowed snow.
It's like- who do you think you are? Do you think your car is SOOOO special that nobody can park next to it?
If you are so concerned with dings from other car doors then go park far away and walk you lazy @sshole!
When my car was new I used to do that. I understand that when you have a new car you want to preserve it. I used to park far away and walk. I would never be so rude to take 2 spots.

Now what woudl I do about it? Nothing really. I am not going to confront someone - you never know what kind of psycho you are dealing with. It's not worth it.

I have fantasized about squeezing my car into the half of a spot and opening my door hard. Several times in a row. I would never do that though. But OH it's a nice fantasy.

A guy was doing this in the garage at the train station.

I left a note on his windshield that said,
"Please show some respect for your fellow commuters and only use 1 parking space."

It worked!

I cannot stand it. I want to key their car, slash their tires and then pee on the doorhandle.

But I don't. I just shake my head and hope they get a flat on the way home for being a total douche.

I wonder if they can get ticketed for that.
I am sure they can.
I WISH WISH WISH they'd come out to a summons on their car one day.
Maybe then they'd stop!

That's what I was wondering...if you called and reported it, could you get the traffic control to do anything? I'd love to watch one of these A.Holes get towed.

Rude and arrogant. I hate when people do that.

When I lived in Queens, we only had the street. And while nothing was marked, residents had a good idea of how to park so that the maximum number of cars could fit. Someone (my hero Chat Icon ) had a flyer typed on his/her computer that said ASSHOLE in big letters, followed by a lecture on how hard it was to park and how that person was causing problems. I used to see it fairly often. Chat Icon

He probably got a ticket. I once parked a little over the line and got a ticket for taking 2 spots.

I wonder if anyone will respond with some sort of justification for this, lol.

I find it infuriating.

The diabetes could affect his/her vision, thus making parking difficult.

OMG there was an @sshole this morning at DD taking up 2 spots, in a tiny and PACKED parking lot, so we were all just waiting around for spaces to empty out. I swear to God, I wanted to punch him in his smug and self important face when he walked out.

I dont care if you are in say a supermarket paring lot and park REALLY far away and do it, but right in front of the door....I think you are a smug asshole.

That they're a diabetic and need to catch the train to their doctor, so in their rush they took 2 spots?

Is there building security that oversees the parking lot that can handle this issue ?

It's rude for both of these drivers to do this.
I would grab a friend and their car and park <this close> on either side of them so that they couldn't open driver or passenger doors.
Just because.

That aggravates me so much - Oh I'm sorry, your car is SO much more important than mine? - People are entitled and rude

Ughh..I'm so sorry. I thought that when I parked, the line was supposed to be under the middle of my car. I always wondered why everyone else parked incorrectly. I will never do that again!
