Another cake smash questions- did you worry about this?
Did anyone else worry about their DC eaiting the cake for the smash shoot. I am going to make my own cake but she hasnt had egg whites yet only yolks so now i am worried!
What did everyone else do? ETA: she will be a little over 10 months bc I am using the pictures for her invite.

Not there yet but DS has had eggs since he was 8 1/2 months via pancakes (I make from scratch so it has whole eggs), french toast, hard boiled egg for Easter, scrambled egg... so I will not worry about him eating his cake by then.
I make his food and recipe books that I have call for eggs in some things that early on. And my ped really only "enforces" avoiding honey and nuts.
If I were you, and you had no problem with egg yolks, check with your ped and try something like pancakes or little bits of scrambled egg to see what happens.
Even if your DD eats whole egg in her smash cake for the first time a few weeks or so before she's 1, well, that will be her intro to eggs and you watch for any allergy then. You have to try it sometime so why not then? I'd think the smash part is the end of the photo shoot so it's not like she'll break out in hives for the rest of the pics.
