announcements and holiday cards
For those that had their baby within the last month or so...how are you dealing with getting the announcements and holiday cards out? I feel double whammied because I am trying to do announcements first but my holiday cards are going to be so late. I actually dont even have announcement pics yet.

I never did announcements (he was born in Aug!) the xmas card was enough I figured.

We just got a photo-holiday card from our friends who had their first baby on Dec. 5th. They sent out one card and put their names and their son's name and underneath put is DOB and weight.
The pic was of him in his car seat sitting under the Christmas tree. I thought it was very cute and very approriate!

I know you don't celebrate Christmas, but this is a copy of the card that I sent out. It was a birth announcement/Christmas card together.

I wish I thought of that. I did the sam exact xmas card but did't think to make it an announcement too!
I'm doing the announcement right after the holiday!

My DD was born in November. I combined the two. I can't find it right now to post apic but I remember the saying we did:
We did a half fold card.
On the front of the card:
T'was the night before Christmas
And all through the house
are diapers, bibs, and blankets
it's quite a mad house.
Mommy and Daddy are elated but exhaushed it's true
But it's our first Christmas with
Guess who?
Inside top flap:
Pictures of my DS with my DD
Inside Bottom flap:
I would like to introduce my new baby sister and then all the info about my DD.

Our names
The family loved it. I changes it a little to have it sound like it was from my son. I'll see if I can find the original poem that introduced the baby from the parents.

I actually figured out how to speed this up a bit. I just realized I can upload pics from costco and have someone pick them up tomm AM. That helped quite a bit. I already bought the announcements and the holiday cards so I was already kinda deep in over my head.

DD was born 11/10 and I still have not done announcements. I just (yesterday) sent out holiday cards. I plan on sending out the announcements shortly. I know I did things backwards and wasn't even sure I could get the holiday cards out. I do like the combo announcement/holiday card idea.

At this point, I would shoot for a New Year's card - wishing everyone a Happy New Year & announcing one of the best gifts these season has to offer.
