All my son does is cry
My son will be a month old on Saturday. He is formula fed (similac advanced, four ounces every 3 hours) For the past few days all he has done is cry. I feed him on demand, change him, burp him. I have given him gas drops because he seemed very gassy and would struggle before going to the bathroom. At night I swaddle him, use white noise. Nothing has been working and he just wants me to hold him. Won't sleep for more than 30 mins to an hour.
He will sleep on me or my husband but as soon as we put him in the bassinet or bouncy seat he wakes up and screams.
I've gotten no sleep and I'm at my wits end. I plan to call the pedi tomorrow butany advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: All my son does is cry
Sounds like colic. Our DD had this. It started at about 1 month old and lasted until like 3-4 months old! Good luck. White noise, bouncing, gas drops, all helped.
Getting the mamaroo was a lifesaver. Having her sleep upright in her carseat was amazing.
That's the best advice I've got for you. It was tough. And feels terrible when you are IN it. but it will get better...

Re: All my son does is cry
Do you have the Rock and Play sleeper? That might help him sleep more because of the incline.
Sorry that you're going through this. It always helps to remember this too shall pass.

All my son does is cry
My ds is 10w and at 1m I could have written this word for word. No advice but it got a little better after 2 weeks of pure hell so there is hope. Now at 10w he don't cry as much as long as he's in my arms which sucks for me but it is what it is. Good luck.

He slept in his bouncy seat for an hour and a half today. I ran around like a madman trying to shower, do dishes etc. he is generally ok if I'm holding him, but I can't hold him 24/7.

Re: All my son does is cry
Sounds like colic. My oldest started around 1 month and lasted until 5 months. First thing I would do would be to call your Ped. I would try to switch to a gentle formula. We went through 5 formulas and ended up on gerber good start gentle which really helped her. We used the vaccum to calm her. Some days I would run the vaccum for almost and hour but it was the only thing that worked. We also gave her prescription meds for a few weeks. Sleep the baby upright the newborn rocker is great for that.

I would try a change of formula. Are there any other digestion issues? Any other symptons when eating? Does he grunt? Wriggle his body around? Arch his back? How is his poop when he goes?
My dd started having major digestion and spitting up issues about 3-4 weeks. It took many meds and finally a formula change was all she really needed. She has a dairy protein intolerance. She was put on zantac d For reflux and i had a brand new baby But it was thw formula.change that was life altering. She no longer had sp many digestion issues she slept through the night. And she was back to my happy baby. Also she slept in the rock n play as well. I used it with the jj cole body contour when she was really little bwcsuse it made her feel.more snug. Its rough and im so sorry i know how hard it is but it will pass and befoe eyou know it this will be a distant memory.

Colic stinks and I cried with my DS a lot. Just know it doesn't last forever. By 3 months he was much better.

This! Gentlease helped a bit, as did Gerber colic drops. He could also be going through a growth spurt.

Re: All my son does is cry
We had this with DS. Worst at 6 weeks. My ped said sorry, it's just colic (I was considering milk allergies after reading this board). Instructions from my ped were to hang in there. Everything slowly disappeared.
With sleep, DH who was working would watch DS from 7-11 so I didnt go insane!

I tried that one and it actually made it worse. I haven't heard of it working for that many people. Most people I know had better luck with the gentlease.

Yep. Word for word. My DD cried and screamed all the time. Never slept more than an hour at a stretch. See if you can get the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD. The Dr in it has some great tips for calming them. We watched it on a particularly bad night and some of the stuff in it worked like a switch to calm her. But other than that, it's just time that helps. I know first hand how bad it is. It really destroyed the newborn stage for me. I was a mess. It gets better though- promise!

I would try a new formula, either a sensitive or gentle. I would also get a rock and play. It is amazing. I also am a huge FAN of the gerber soothe drops. They are a probiotic. They were a lifesaver for me. A totally different baby within three days. You can get it at CVS or amazon. love them!!!!!!

What bottles are you using?
Hailey had really bad crying episodes. At 2w we switched to Platex Ventaires and it was like she was a new baby.
