my gf is an ultrascreen tech, she swore she saw at 12w, she was right she was having a boy. I think they can tell depending on the position, but I think its more of a we could be wrong thing so they wait. I tried they said no Chat Icon

Re: Finding out the sex at ultrascreen (12 weeks)

at my 12 week the Doc had an idea, but it depends on the baby's position and all. Still may be a little too early. It's also a guess that early and they could be wrong. Doesn't hurt to ask, but it may be another 5 - 7 weeks till they're sure.

I opted not to know and as hard as it may be... we're gonna stay team green. Let's hope I stay that way for my level 2 on Friday Chat Icon

Mine guessed boy at my 12w, and they confirmed at 16w, 17w, and 20w that I am having a girl.

I asked last week and I was 15w3D and the sono tech didn't even try. She didn't want to take a guess that early.

With DD1 they took a guess and said boy, they were wrong, this time around they guessed correctly....I think it also depends on the sono tech, this time around we had a great one that was very experienced and said if she really had no clue she wouldn't venture a guess..the other one with Chels was just clueless in generalChat Icon

Ours took a guess (I didn't realize I was measuring ahead when I was at the ultrascreen and the test wound up being invalid-I was 14.5 weeks when I got there). She said "almost positive," so we've been calling it by that gender, but keeping it to ourselves. We're not registering for anything gender specific until our Level 2.

Re: Finding out the sex at ultrascreen (12 weeks)

My ultrascreen was at 13w and they wouldn't take a guess, made me wait until 20w. I really think the baby is too small to tell anything that early, remember they have a 50/50 shot of being right.
