Crawling babies and clean floors

How often do you clean your floors? Once you have a baby crawling around your home, obviously one would want their floors to be sparkling clean. I am not pg yet.. but all these things are running through my mind. I have two dogs. I guess I would see myself cleaning the floors twice a week?

I crack myself up b/c now that I am thinking of starting a family in the coming months, I am thinking of all this random stuff!

Re: Crawling babies and clean floors

Before DD could crawl I would do the floors weekly, now that she is crawling I do them daily if not more so. Once they know not to eat off of the floor and put everything in their mouth I went back to weekly (with DS) unless there is a big mess. We don't have pets. I think I would clean more with pets though.

That makes sense. Daily cleaning of the floors until the baby can learn to not put everything in it's mouth. Wow, that's alot..especially if you have to work to.

I have a long haired cat, and a short haired BIG dog LOL... with wood floors HA. I used to do a quick vacuum daily, steam jet once a week and a deep clean in all the corners and such once a week. Now, with DS crawling, I need to vacuum 2x a day... Otherwise he's covered in hair when I pick him up. It's not at all noticable till you pick him up ... my house is tiny so it doesnt take me long.

Chat Icon very cute haha! Yea, the thought of starting a family and having a baby is becoming overwhelming to me. I am so used to it just being DH and I.... and I do love my sleep. Oh buy I hope I will be able to adapt.

Re: Crawling babies and clean floors

I have two dogs. I am a germaphobe. Believe it or not I never cleaned my floors anymore when DD crawled. I just wiped her hands with wipes. And we wipe our dogs feet whenever they come in from outside, as well as wipe their tushes with a baby wipe after they poop. Also...we dont wear shoes in the house. Trust me as time goes on you will become more at ease with this stuff, I def got better as DD got older.
