Here is our story!
I was driving my daughter and niece home from a day at my mom' house on my due date. I was living at my mom's for a few days because I had deadlines for work and needed someone to watch Alexandra all day. I was exhausted! As I was driving home I started to feel braxton hicks, but very low in my pelvis, and very strong. They started to have a pattern to them at around 9:15. I told my DH to come home. He sleeps out for work 3 or 4 nights a week. Thank god he was able to come home that night. Of course he was stuck in a traffic accident! I had a 3.5 hour labor with DD, so I wanted to get to the hospital fast. I had my brother come and get our first born, Alexandra. DH got home at 10:30ish. I packed my bag and we started to get into the car at 11:15 or so. My water broke getting into the car in our driveway. I never felt that with Alexandra, so It was new to me! We got to Stony Brook hospital at 11:20. My water really leaked at that point and a I walked through the corridors. We had a long walk since we parked in the wrong area...AGAIN!!!! We did this with our first! So I saw a wheelchair and got in. When they examined me at 12:00AM, I was 4 CM. I didn't have an epidural with our first, so I decided to go natural again. At 12:50 I was 9 CM, I knew It was time to push only a minute or two after that. I was standing up and said, I am ready to push! They checked me, I was 10 CM. I pushed about 4 times, and she was out at 1:15 AM. She was born 1 hr and 15 minutes past my due date.
