being outdoors in the fall...on a nice crisp fall day...do you enjoy it?
so luce's bday party will most likely be at our house upstate in October.
I planned on setting up stuff for the kids outside (weather permitting, although it has rained for EVERY.SINGLE.MAJOR.EVENT. I've ever planned so........) but on a nice crisp fall day (upper 50's) with a jacket/sweater combo...would you hang outdoors?
would you let your kid play outside in those temperatures?
I feel like "we" as a society only do things outside in optimal (warm, but not too warm) temps these days and I want to know if people will think I am a loon (for this reason...I am sure there are MANY others  )
anyway, what do you think? what do you think about being outdoors in the fall?

TJ's birthday is in April and it was a cooler day in the 50's for his 2nd birthday and the kids played outside.

Love it, its my favorite time of the year! I would go and enjoy it! Frankly, I would think anyone who wouldnt enjoy a beautiful fall day was a loon.

Absolutely.
50's in the fall is perfect! No sweating. No worrying about sunscreen.
Leaves upstate will be changing. Sounds great.

You can have apple bobbing and pumpkin painting for the kids as entertainment. Serve warm apple cider!!

Yes, I would definitely do it. But we go outdoors all year long--I can't say my child has ever been inside much (except while very sick). Even as a winter newborn, we went for walks on most days except those that are very cold.
I guess it depends on the people you are inviting--if you think most won't be into it, then plan on indoors, but if you think most will like it, go outside. The kids will love it.
I agree re: our society. It always amazes me how busy parks get right after Memorial Day and how quiet right after Labor Day (not counting kids in school) eventhough the temps may be exactly the same as a week ago.

DH and I had our engagement party the first weekend in October and it was beautiful out, actually in the mid 70's. But to answer your question, Fall is my favorite season, so YES...so can I come ?

I think it's a great time of year. My sister's cousin always has a party for her son around halloween and plans things outside.
This past year she did a "pumpkin patch" where the kids could pick their own pumpkin in her backyard, complete with wagons and what not. Then the kids were allowed to decorate them with glitter glue and other stuff. They loved it.

i would. i was taking DS out in 45degree weather when i was home on leave b/c i had no car and was going to lose my mind in the house. so if it was sunny, but cold, i bundled him up and out we went.

the last time I did this NO ONE used the tent. everyone crammed in to my house so there was $400 WASTED.
I am NEVER renting a tent for weather protection again.
