Tyler Joseph

I was having difficulty in the last week before I gave birth with High blood pressure, protein in my urine and water retention. I had to go to the doctor every other day for blood pressure checks and also did a 24 hour urine analysis. I had gained over 12lbs in the last 2 weeks before I gave birth. On April 2nd I went to the dcotor to get my results from the 24 hour urine. I go my blood pressure is still pretty high and the protein in my urine was high. The doctor came in and informed me that I did have preeclampsia and that she was going to induce me at 730am the next day!Chat Icon

So DH didnt go back to work and we went home and set up the bassinet the bouncy chair and had a nice big meal. I wasnt nervous at all and just couldnt wait to meet my little boy.

So we went to the hospital on Saturday and they prep me for an induction. I get hooked up to pitocin and magnesium for the preeclampsia. When I got to the hospital she did an internal and I was 4cm dilated already!! So we sat around and I started to feel really whoozy and light headed like I was going to pass out. The nurse came in and my heart rate had dropped and my blood pressure shot really low. So they shut off the pitocin bc I was having some kind of reaction to it. I was put on oxygen for the rest of the day. Since they had to shut off the pitocin the dr came and broke my water. It was the weirdest feeling!!! It literally felt like she grabbed the nipple of a balloon and popped it. It was like a hose if I laughed or coughed it came gushing out. I waited as long as I could for the EPI, even when I got it I wasnt in too much pain but I didnt want it to be too late. Eventually they put the pitocin back on and at around 630 I was 7cm!! The EPI started to wear off so the dr came back and topped it off, but it still didnt work. I was feeling every contraction to the max! It wasnt unbearable bc i breathed through them. I started to feel like I needed to push so the doctor came in and saw my bloody show and said we are ready!!

I pushed for about 30 minutes and it really wasnt that bad, It took a lot out of me. DH watched the WHOLE thing! I was so impresseed with him. At 8:22pm Tyler Joseph was born 6lbs 9oz 19 inches long! I did tear and had to get stitched up whcih was uncomfortable but i got distracted by DH looking all uncomfortable attremping to hold our son! He felt like he was gonna crush him bc he was so little!

My recovery was pretty rough, my blood pressure never went down and at one point i was up to 170/100...I wasnt allowed any visitors and had to sit in my room with no lights on. I wass hooked up to the magnesium for 24 hours after Tyler was born and I had mattresses surrounding my bed in case of seizures. The magnesium really kicks your a$$, i had to drag the iv thing with me every time I pee'd and they had to measure my pee the whole time. I am now on blood pressure medication and still cant get it stable, I go to the doctor once a week to keep tabs on it. It goes from really low to really high now. I have been starting to get dizzy spells when it gets too low, but hopefully it will get back to normal soon!

I love being a mommy Tyler is such a good baby!! I am breastfeeding and still not producing enough to feed Tyler so I have to supplement with formula, but I am loving every minute with him!!
