I would give $50 - $100 for that relationship. For family I give a little more. A gc would be find if he really likes that stuff but I always give cash because in our family that goes into the child's bank account - they don't get 'presents' they can play with for religious events. Not sure why or how this came about but that's how it was for us and how it is for the kids now.
