Catering food...how many people does a tray...
feed. Im crazy, my DS isnt even born yet and I am already thinking about his baptism.
Anyway, I had DD's at Papa Joe's and it was nice but I was thinking about doing my DS's at my house. By then, our kitchen will be done and last spring we didnt the siding and windows. Most of my DH's side has never been to our house (they live in CT).
How many people does a full tray of italian food catered from a pizzeria feed??? Im just trying to get ideas as to how much it is to do it home or go to a place.

well it depends how many different things you are getting, they will tell you 8 people per half tray...but it feeds WAY more if you get more than one thing..we just has 70 people and we had...
1/2 trays
2 shells and chz
2 ziti
2 eggplant
2 chicken marsala
3 meatballs
the trick is to put out medium sized plates, if you put out huge ones peple fll it up and dont eat it. We also did a huge tray of wrap appetizers (my recipe)...so they werent starving...
They always tell you it feeds less...
How many are you having? I do xmas eve here with about 20 people so i can tell you I use about 3 (1/2 pans) total. Thats with appetizers and chips first...

I plan on inviting the same people that I did for DD's. Its arond 60 people. I was thinking about 6 full trays and maybe a 6 foot hero, plus a 1/2 tray of garden salad and 1/2 of ceasar salad. Do you think that's too much.
Im just trying to find out which would be cheaper. While I would love to have it at my house sometimes I think its just too much work. We'll just have to get quotes on everything.

thats seems like too much!!! fulltrays are huge!!!
I do my own catering so its cgeaper, if you are gonna but it, go out!!! Are you near the brickhouse in patchogue, they have a n=beautiful room and we paid 22 a head and it was wonderful...

Ii give you credit for even thinking of having it at the house with 2 kiddies! I did DD's Baptism at the house and she's our only one. I was swearing to my BF that she should not allow me to do that again with so many people...and it was outside!

ITA Jen not to scare you, but we had a BBQ when Jack was 3 weeks old and I was MISERABLE. All the prep and cleaning up and people wouldn't leave. It was really hard, esp being tired and sleep deprived!!!
