Would You Be Offended If (Halloween Related)
you didn't celebrate halloween and your kid was sent home with this invite for a party? I'm not sure who celebrates, who doesn't and we just plan on inviting the whole class.
)
Or should I just do a regular paper invite?

Eh, you may be better off with something less "in your face." *I* wouldn't be offended (it's really awesome, actually!), but I could see someone who doesn't celebrate finding it offensive.

I would send them. If people don't celebrate then they won't come. Hopefully the teacher knows if a family doesn't celebrate and you can find out beforehand.

I agree. I wouldn't be offended if I didn't celebrate, I just probably wouldn't send my child.

It wouldn't offend me if we didn't celebrate, I'd be more upset depending on the age of the kids. Pre-schoolers = scary. Elementary = really cute.

I have to admit...I was a little taken back by it. I wasnt sure what it was at first and TOTALLY get your idea after reading what. Still...I dont love it. Caqnt place specifically why...but its a little freaky to me. Not too sure what other peoples takes would be upon opening their childs schoolbag. Also, gotta remember those that dont do Halloween...KWIM

I kinda liked the card like Barb did for her sons Halloween B-day.
Honestly, do what you think. I think you may get mixed opinions on it. hey it can work out 2 ways....the parents will either consider you "the cool mom"...or "the nut"...LOL

i think it's adorable.
if a family doesn't celebrate halloween, they won't send their child to your party REGARDLESS of how the invite looks. they will just RSVP no. it's a great invite and the kids will love it. i wouldn't worry about offending anyone.
just an FYI--teachers don't always know who celebrates what---we have no knowledge of any child's religion or religious beliefs unless the parent has told us---and most of them don't.

I'm not sure because I celebrate Halloween. I can tell you that my 7 year old would LOVE it! I'm glad he didn't see it because his invites are printed & he would have scrapped them for your idea!
My take on it is if you're not sure, better to err on the side of caution. Oh, and if he's in Catholic school, forget it. They will be offended.

I just asked my neighbor...who was walking her dog...and doesnt celebrate halloween and she said "ehhhhhh" and told you send the invite.
I think what some people arent taking into account is that Nicholas is 9. It's not like you are sending this invite to Emmas daycare...

I'm not offended on a Halloween sense (I do celebrate Halloween and think it's cute), but what if somebody just lost a family member and the last time they saw them was at the wake in an open casket?
Since DH lost his father 6 months ago, I think he'd flip.
