Here is my LONG birth story FINALLY!!!!
My due date was August 9th, and on that morning, I started to have some slight contractions (about 5 min apart) and my bloody show appeared. I called the Dr at about 7am and she advised us to come in and get checked out. We showered, and took our time, knowing that it could still be early. I got checked, and they said I was a fingertip dilated and suggested to walk around for a while. At 12:30, I still did not make any progress and was sent home. At 7pm, I was having more and more contractions, so we went in again to the hospital. When I got there, I was at 3 cm and stayed that way until about 10pm. At 4 am, I was 9 cm and my water FINALLY broke! I was breathing through the contractions, but they were getting a bit painful, so I opted to have a shot of Nubane(sp?) and that helped out a lot! However, as the night progressed, my contractions slowed down and I was still at 9cm. The contractions were still very painful though and I opted for a second shot of the Nubane—which did NOT work!! At about 10 am(yes…I labored all night!!), I was in so much pain and exhausted, but still only 9cm, so at the Dr’s suggestions, I had ptiocin and an epidural—and it was HEAVENLY—I wished that I had it earlier. So fast forward until about noon on August 10th, I started to push---thinking ok…this is it!

Well, after 2 and a half hours of pushing, Tyler Lynn arrived and he is the most sweetest thing ever. He is ADORABLE and I could not ask for a more perfect baby. He has been a great sleeper and eater so far, so we hope it continues. I could not be happier and my DH has been a great support. He is so good with the baby and so attentive to both of us.

I know that pictures were posted by my SIL, aliwnec10, and my friend chelle!

Thanks for all of the support you ladies provided me through my 9 months—and best of luck to all of the new expecting mommies. Being a mom is the best job ever!!!

Most of all, to my fellow August Mommies…can’t wait to see you over on the Parenting boards!
