Is it normal for newborns to strain while pooping?
Clover was going while at the pediatricians office so I asked if that was normal. I was told yes but I certainly am thinking otherwise, I mean the girl turns BRIGHT red and sounds like she's in pain.

I don't think my ds ever strained to do #2. But then again, i still can't tell when he is going in general!

i'm pretty sure it's normal for newborns to get all red and look like they're straining to poop. DS is BF and has no problems getting the poop out, but still gets extremely red in the face and makes straining noises. doc told me it was fine.

Aww, that picture is hysterical!
I posted about this the other day and asked my ped. He said it was normal. Not only does she get a little red but it's explosive!!!

I BF and YES I always know when he is going to poop because he turns bright red and starts twisting around like crazy! My Dr. also told me it was nothing to worry about.

Of course its normal...we laugh sometimes bc my son makes those funny faces when trying to poop or pass gas...
