2 birthday gift questions-- for your DC's "friends"

How much is normal to spend? Sasha was the first b'day and she got some great gifts-- but now I have like 6 bday parties to attend in the next 6 weeks and I don't want to go overboard. Some I have an idea of how much since I am familiar with the gifts-- but what's the going rate?

Also, I had an idea for gift-- is personalized stationary with an outfit a good gift? Or do you think the mom's will already have stationary? I wouldn't get a large amount-- just prob like 25 or so cards.

I agree as well.

As far as your question of how much to spend, if I am friends with the parents, I tend to spend a little more, like in the $35 - 40 range. If it is a school friend, $20 - 25 seems to be the norm.

Silly questions-is the stationary for the kids? How old are they and what do they do with it?

I wouldn't know what to do with stationary for DD or DS.

I usually spend around $25-$50, but sometimes less (if I get a deal) or more (if I can't resist).

this would be for 1 yr olds, but I figure the mom's could use them for thank you's.

After just having Sasha's party-- the amount of toys, etc. is obscene. And, this is mainly for my local mommy friends-- we all live in apts and are short on space. So I was trying to think of some alternative ideas.

I'm not in NY anymore so the going rate here is a bit less. I usually spend in the $20-25 range.

In the spring/summer I will often do a swimsuit and a beach towel or cover up as a gift.
