1st Birthday Party cost

right now our guestlist is about 50 people (15 are kids). we're also thinking of having some kind of entertainment for the kids (probably a clown that does facepainting, balloons). location will probably be at IL's house but not sure if it'll fit everyone comfortably inside since it'll be cold (january).

what did you do and how much did you spent on your dc's first birthday? i want to get some idea of how much to expect to spend.

TIA

Expect to spend a lot, especially if you are hiring entertainment. I did an at home party with a puppet show and had about 25 people and everything added up...to A LOT!

I agree. We spent more that we thought we would even though it was at our house and we cooked everything except a hero. But then again, I went a little over board with things like a 4 ft inflatable cupcake!!Chat Icon

Re: 1st Birthday Party cost

We had ours outside...we brought food to BBQ and made the rest, and we had entertainment.

I'd say it was ( including renting the space) about $850 -$1000

That's about what ours was AT HOME! I didn't do catered food either, a #1 shaped hero, some salads, pizza and other snack things. I made my own cake and cupcakes. It's those darn paper goods, decorations and entertainment that will get you every time Chat Icon

We spent alot of $$$$ on Ella's party it's ridiculous but was so worth it. Everything was catered and all the little knick knacks really adds up.

Depends on the size. We had close to 85 people and it definitely added up. But if you dont wait last minute you wont feel the pinch as much. For us the space alone was 350.00, food was by family and some was catered, then there were the multiple favors for the kids which I think cost the most but that you can control. In total maybe 1500 which for te amount of people I guess wasnt so bad.

Re: 1st Birthday Party cost

I'm going small... 20-30 people just immediate family and close friends. We are trying to book a restaurant right now for $25 a head so it will prob cost us about $600 or so including decorations and favors. My mom is making the cakes.
