We did sports. DH is a Sports Reporter and both DH and I were college athletes so our DS has no choice but to like sports 
ETA we called it "Rookie of the Year"

DS1 was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse because he was in love with the show. DS2 we just did a fall theme (pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows etc.) b/c his bday is in October and he really wasn't into anything.

For my first we did Mickey Mouse. I think we are going to do baseball for my second son but we have time for that so I am not sure.

1st birthday boy themes..
We did a vintage comic book theme. Not the actual super hero characters but more of the batman style 'Boom' 'Bam', cityscape, and "Super <son's name>. It was great! We gave all the kids capes and masks. Everyone loved it.

For my DS's first bday we did a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, the party came out SO cute!! For his 2nd bday we did Minions and now for his 3rd we're doing dinosaurs.

For DS1 I did an under the sea theme...whales, octopus, fish, etc.
For DS2, I'm not sure if I'm doing a barnyard or carnival theme. I rented the traveling petting zoo so I'm trying to figure out what theme goes best and is most fun.

We let DS pick out what he wanted at party city. He walked down the aisle and went right for Elmo and Sesame Street. So that's how we got his first birthday theme. Lol
