What is normal blood pressure for a 65 year old woman?
My Mom had a Dr's appt today and the first time they took her blood pressure it was 155/80 and then they had her rest for a few minutes and lay down on her side and it went down to 135/80....that still sounds kind of high to me, but she said that her Dr. said that is normal...
Thoughts?

thanks...i think it's high too.
i told my mom to cut down on the Wendy's and she goes "what does that have to do with anything?" i'm like, "HELLLOOO you have a lot to learn"!

The 155 is a little high, but the 135 is about normal, I wouldn't worry unless the doctor had said something about it!

Normal is 120/80. I am on bp medicine and was given a pamplet the other day.

yeah, my Mom tried to tell me that it changes with age and that a younger person is expected to have much lower numbers

yeah, my Mom tried to tell me that it changes with age and that a younger person is expected to have much lower numbers
I am 35 and just had 152. It usually depends on age but not always.
