Roof costs?
We won a $1000 gift certificate and get 25% off any work we do with a company we met at the HOme Show a few months ago.
They are coming on Sat to give us an estimate. Does anyone know a price range of getting a roof done? I know it all depends on size and probably what you pick. We aren't looking for anything out of the ordinary and we have a cape with an extra room on the back of the house.
A ballpark figure would be great.

Do they have to rip the old roof off or can they put another layer on top? If you have to rip it off, it's more $$$. My mom has a small cape and a detached garage and I believe she paid somewhere around $6,000 (the garage also has a wraparound patio with a roof on it).

I think it has to be ripped off. I believe our inspector said there were a couple of layers on there.

My mom had hers done last year...she has a lot of peaks and a garage, plus she had to get the old roof ripped off and replaced. It cost her $5000 and included new shutters for the front of the house.

we got quotes for about $10,000 to rip it off. We have a dutch colonial w/a front porch. that price included the garage.

I have a colonial, but a big one with a three car garage. We just went over our roof, (only had one layer on) and paid $6,000.
