I went to MSK for something else but recommend them. If you need LI location some of the doctors have days that they work out of the LI offices, mine saw patients in the Commack location. After my initial appointment with her my follow ups have been via telehealth.
ETA if you call the main MSK number you can tell them what type of cancer specialist you are looking for and they will connect you with a doctor who treats it.

Best of luck, prayers and hugs. 
I have been going through a similar situation and actually going to have surgery to remove a nodule from my Thyroid. Its been a bit of a scary process with the wondering and what ifs. I don't have recommendation but wanted to wish you well.

Ken Ng sees head and neck patients at MSK Nassau and is great.
