Breakthrough COVID
Anyone been vaccinated and then test positive for COVID? What are your symptoms?
About two weeks ago I had a sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, headache, etc. All the symptoms of a minor head cold. No fever, no loss of smell/taste. But looking back, what is so odd to me is that my DH (vaccinated) had not gotten sick at all. Nothing. I wish I thought to get tested. I thought the symptoms did not seem like "COVID" at all. I just read that all the above symptoms are common with breakthrough covid.

Just recently a number of friends in our circle all fully vaccinated in the spring had covid. They were all symptomatic but their symptoms varied. Most had a really bad cold and some lost sense of taste and smell as well. A few also had a fever for a day or two. One also had gastro issues. At least two of them are still symptomatic after two weeks with coughing and congestion.
Covid is definitely going around right now but so are a number of colds. My son recently had a cold and was tested a few times and it wasn’t covid. Thank god none of the rest of us caught it either. You could always test for antibodies if you want to be sure.

I know so many people that had breakthrough covid. Symptoms varied from minor cold symptoms to full on covid symptoms.

My father had open heart surgery and ten days from coming home from the hospital was back in for covid. He was there another week and they gave him the monoclonal antibodies. He developed diabetes and felt weak. Both the Diabetes and the weakness are gone. Apparently covid and open heart surgery can create diabetes. Who knew? He had Johnson and Johnson. My mom did not get sick and was tested multiple times.

I don’t think it’s weird that your DH didn’t get sick. When members of my house get sick we rarely all catch it—usually more from kid to kid bc they’re gross.

he also had multiple myeloma, so the two in combination is not good. I am sorry for his family. His sister was super kind to my mom in an emergency at a conference they both attended. I will never forget her kindness.

Most of the fired workers are assorted support staff. Almost NO doctors and very few nurses.

Breakthrough COVID
I know a decent amount of people who had breakthrough Covid. I don’t believe it’s as small of a percentage of the population as they say as many don’t get tested.
Most of the people who got it though - their whole family, including unvaccinated children, didn’t get it.

Yes that is correct. Positive but asymptomatic (whatever that really means). Asymptomatic is a very general and relative term abs I am sure they are still contagious!
As for the above posters I am one hundred percent sure this is true. Two different doctors told this to me. How can I go to the news with hearsay and do you really think any doctor is going to go to the news? The two that told me are very pro-vaccine and pro mandate. Ask everyone you know. Ask the doctors working in the hospitals if you know any close to you who would share. I’m not giving the name of the hospital but I know these people would have NO reason to lie and it came up in the context that one of them was covid positive themselves.

I think the symptoms range from asymptomatic to very sick. A friend of mine had both shots, she's healthy (runs each day, eats healthy) and she got REALLY sick for a month. Thankfully she didn't have to go into the hospital but she's a single mom and it was brutal for her. And once she started feeling better - it took another 3 weeks before she could walk without getting winded.

I've not heard this...my husband works for a large NY hospital system...they have a hotline to call if they have been exposed or even are feeling sick. if they call- they talk to someone who asks them if they've tested and if positive, they actually alert your managers and you cannot come back for 10 days. My husband was exposed, but vaccinated and not showing symptoms and they said he could work since he was not patient facing, but needed to also test in 4 days. Some of the rules are dumb, but I really cannot believe that doctors are working Covid Positive...they must be doing so without following the proper protocols.

Thank you for posting this, this is really good to hear. It upset me so much especially since a family friend recently contracted covid in the hospital (he went in for something else and was fully vaccinated) and passed away within two weeks in that same hospital. I told my family to stay away from Long Island hospitals after learning about this so I am glad the city is an option. Is your husband sure if they test positive they are being told they can’t come in to work? In all cases?

I am vaccinated and I had it 2 weeks ago. Sore throat, post nasal drip, ear pain. Lost smell and taste for 4 days. No cough or anything

Interesting, never heard of that before. Do you know what the A1C number was when they diagnosed diabetes? Sounds more like a spike in blood sugar than an actual diagnosis.
