What to wear with this?
I bought this sweater dress. It has gold in it (hard to tell in pic) I can't go bare legged, too cold out. What would you pair this with? Tights or leggings and ankle or tall boots (what color?) It looks weird with jeans on me since I'm super short (5 2)

This is tough because of the color.
I wouldn't do leggings under this because I dont' think the dress goes with leggings.
If it was more of a tunic, maybe.
I think leggings would be too heavy under it.
Honestly it would look best with bare legs and tall or short boots in a tan or brown or taupe color. Bascially any boot - short or tall would be cute with it in the neutral/brown family.
However, since you said no bare legs- as far as tights, I found these tights in a true taupe color that I use as my go to for things I can't wear black tights with. It's hard to find that color though. I had to order online. I'll see if I can dig up the link.
The other thing I do when I don't feel like being bre legged is a very good quality, very nude pantyhose. So it looks like a bare leg but you get a bit more coverage. However, to be honest, that isn't much warmer then being bare legged.

They have some cute ideas.
But the 1st thing I'd need is a slip...lol I know I sound so old but I can't stand when the sweater clings to my legs when wearing tights or stockings. Drives me insane!

It does look cute with my tall brown boots, and my short taupe boots. But, I just feel like I will freeze in NYC! If you find the tights, let me know! I'm going to Kohl's later to see if they have anything light! I hate panty hose because I feel like my Grandma in them

So I went in my Amazon orders and seems the ones I had gotten were DKNY and they don't have them in that color anymore.
I see others on Amazon in that color that are also discontinued. Which is annoying because that was the perfect color for a light or tan colored dress.
If you get a pantyhose that is super high quality and super sheer it doesn't look granny-ish at all- but the sheerer it is, the less it will do to keep you warm so it's a catch 22.
I really hate winter for this reason.
I like to just run around with bare legs... it just works so much better with most fashion, you know!

A sweater dress needs tights, sheer hose or a naked leg won't look as good.
My first career was in the hosiery business. 25 years later I'm still a sock / tights / pantyhose geek.
