Dinner party go-to's

We are hosting a dinner party this weekend for some of DH's new employees. DH has asked me to go all Suzie Homemaker for the crew and make everything. I don't mind because I am a fairly good cook but I feel like I make the same stuff all the time. Anyone have a good recipe they break out for these occasions or a holiday?

Re: Dinner party go-to's

Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with almonds

Homemade mac and cheese

beef bourguignon (Ina's recipe)

Not necessarily together. Actually, definitely not together. lol

A plated salad with a seasonal fruit, like sliced pear, is classy.

Not everyone eats it, but I love to cook a pork loin for company. (like orange maple marinated pork loin- you can google for recipes)

Good luck!

Re: Dinner party go-to's

Not exactly a new recipe, but we were at a cousin's party recently and I LOVED the way she plated the cheeses, crackers and grapes. She bought a long board from Home Depot or Lowes and scattered different cheeses and grapes around it. Looked so pretty and different and then on small chalk boards labeled each cheeses along with all the other foods around.

Re: Dinner party go-to's

I like to make
slow cooker balsamic beef

but instead of short ribs (unless you want to use short ribs)

I use chuck roast and cut into chunks.

I serve with green beans and parmesan risotto.

Nothing makes me happier than a solid charcutterie.
