We can not use the glue traps because of the dog. The dog does nothing to help with this situation.

I have a dog and use them. Just place them in a corner or under something. Somewhere where the dog won't go (and even put them outside)

I used the white powder under my sink and at the perimeter of my house by my side door and the glue traps. Haven't had many this year.

I’m so sorry to laugh at anyone’s expense but this thread is cracking me up! The dog watching a mouse eat its food, the poster who hates cats and would prefer the crickets, the dumb crickets jumping AT whatever they’re scared of - I just can’t. Chat Icon but OP I hope they go away quickly because they sound awful!!!

Chat Icon Thanks! And mind you, my dogs were NOT small. We're talking a pit bull and golden retriever mix, so each was a solid 80 lbs. Big babies. Chat Icon

We've had them in the basement and have the sticky traps out....HOWEVER, the other day there was one in my bedroom. UGH I killed it--- I must have gotten it from behind because he didnt move at all. LOL I was grateful for that.

Re: Cave Crickets

Just to give an idea of what a savage my 8 lb cat is, this summer we were having work done in the kitchen so I had brown paper down on the floor to protect the new tile from construction debris and paint.
One night, I witnessed my cat stalking, pouncing on and stunning a big cricket in there. It was so gross and I was freaked out but I couldn't look away- like a train wreck. She proceeded to play with and torture this wretched thing until she felt satisfied with herself, then she proceed to eat it- all of it that is, save for one leg- which she left for....? Maybe to show the other bastards what was in store for them? Maybe to show me and DH what a bad ass she was? Maybe as a trophy?
Anyway, after this carnage, the brown paper on the floor was stained with cricket guts and juices. Chat Icon
I was so freaking disgusted... yet strangely fascinated.... by this whole thing.
The next morning I showed DH the crime scene and all the evidence.

ETA- oh and the whole time she was executing this carnage, she was purring so loudly- like it was the most satisfying thing on the planet to her.
