My friend is getting married tomorrow at the Milleridge Inn. I declined the invitation because I am currently over 39 weeks pregnant and was anticipated to have an induction by now due to GD. The baby is not down yet so my OB is holding off. I don't want to attend the whole event....just not up to it....but is there a way to view the ceremony and then leave?

Of course. Just show up, watch, and go home.

Of course you can just go to the ceremony. I'm sure she'll love that you're there.

You can also go to the cocktail hour and hang out for a little. They only care about who is sitting in a chair during the dinner part.

Tell the bride tou are just going to the ceremony and try to stay for the CH but then leave. I am sure she will be happy you are able to come. At my wedding we had someone say no, and the day before call because they were able to catch the earlier flight home from their trip. We were thrilled they could come.

Yes, tell the bride you're only going to the ceremony..You don't want her or a family member to see you unexpectedly and they think you will stay for dinner and then they tell the venue to add a chair to a table.

I think it is totally fine to go to the ceremony, and I bet your friend will be really happy! I would, as others have said, give her a heads-up so that she doesn't ask the hall to add another seat to the reception.
