Getting Passport at Post Office in Roosevelt Field Mall
There is a post office on the lower level of Roosevelt Field Mall. They do passport applications on a walk-in basis only (no appointments). Will the wait on a Saturday be insane? I'd like to avoid taking a day off from work to get my kid's passport at another post office.

Not sure about Roosevelt field but did you try Mineola post office I got a quick Saturday appointment there.
Remember both parents must go unless you have a notarized letter

I did mine there last year. They are very thorough and quick, but the line starts early, before the mall even opens. At least you get to wait inside.

Other post offices do Saturday walk ins. You might want to try others.

You can make an appointment online. There are other post offices that have Saturday hours that you can make an appointment for. We didn't have to wait at all.

It's busier some times than others. I'd try to be there first thing.
But I would really recommend just making an appt online. I did that for my children and we were in and out in 15 minutes. We had pics taken ahead of time.

Getting Passport at Post Office in Roosevelt Field Mall
We went to the Roosevelt Field PO last year for a passport for DD. The line was insane and began well before they opened. The whole process was about 3 hours (15 min process time, 2:45 waiting). If you dont get there before or when they open you risk being too far on the line and getting cut off. Early on they took inventory of the end of the line and called a cut off person. Other PO have Sat appointments that are a much safer bet!

Oh, that's what I figured would happen. I have an appointment for a few weeks from now at another post office, but I wanted to see if I could get it done a little sooner by walking in. We'll probably go and see what the line looks like. Thanks for the feedback!

I know you said you don't like to take off but we did our children's in March at the Manhasset PO and were in and out in 10 minutes. There was no line. I just made an appointment online the week before.

Make a Saturday appt at another post office
We had an appointment at the East Meadow post office for a saturday am in December and were in and out in under 20 minutes, with pictures taken there.
