Do you buy gifts for teacher appreciation week

I feel like I do holidays and end of the year. I know there are a bunch of parents doing teacher appreciation week. I have 3 kids, 4 main teachers but there is an aid in my daughters class and my older son gets services. I was thinking of giving just the 4 main teachers 10.00 dunkin donut gift cards and having the kids draw pictures.

I had no idea it was even a thing until they sent around to collect for a class gift.
I give the requested amount- $5- and the class moms use it to buy gifts for the teacher for the week.
I don't give anything else.

I do - I have 4 teachers to buy for- I had those personalized cookies made for each of them and then I will give them each a $10 gift card to target. I really appreciate all that the teachers do - Lord knows I would never want their job...

Honestly, I do holiday gift and end of year gift. I soooo appreciate all my kids teachers do for them, but I feel like 2 a year is enough. I always write them notes and give a nice gift card and call it a day.

Usually a gift for Christmas and end of year.

For teacher appreciation week, when my son was younger he would tell me why he liked the teacher and I'd write the message for him on a piece of paper and he'd draw a picture for her. Now that he is older he writes the message himself and still draws the picture.
It was always a huge hit and seemed to be genuinely appreciated by the teacher too. It was hilarious when he was young - like preschool age... like a teacher because she didn't yell. Or gave an extra snack.

I never have. Our PTA does a whole week long thing for them including a bagel breakfast, a small gift and a luncheon throughout the week.

I chair our PTA’s teacher appreciation luncheon. PTA also delivers little trinkets each day. Class mom usually does a little class gift. Personally, I’m not doing an additional teacher appreciation gift this year, honestly, it’s been a lackluster, lack of effort year so I’m not jumping up and down.....
Last year, incredible teacher, I was class mom, we did a video of each student saying why they appreciate the teacher and I put it together with music, it’s amazing.

I always give a plant and have my DD write a thank you card. This year I picked up a succulent in a nice pot.

I'm a teacher. I received an adorable plant yesterday, a pretty bracelet from the loft,and a sweet note from another kid. Our PTA is also doing a luncheon and that's always appreciated, too.

im gonna send in a small Dunkin gift card ( my son said his teacher likes dunkin cofffee LOL ) and maybe a little snack to go with it.... nothing big. the PTA is doing a big luncheon on Thursday for all the staff, and asked parents to sign up to send in something, so i'm gonna send in some homemade chocolate chip cookies. so- nothing big.
my thing is that its so close to the end of the year, too. so you send in stuff or a gift for this. then a few weeks later you're doing the end of the year gift... why not just move it back and combine it with that? LOL or do it in the winter when its cold and the kids are all crazy with cabin fever... thats when the teachers REALLY need to feel appreciated! HAHA

I usually send in a little something. DS 1s teacher just went on maternity leave so I’m going to only send in for DS 2s teacher.

No. Our PTA does carnations sent to the teacher. I always buy her a few in my kids name. Done!

No. We do a card (made by kids), a dessert bar, etc.

I agree with holiday presents. It’s enough. Year end presents too.
