Thank you notes after an Evite
For DC's birthday party, we used Evite (first time!). How do I send Thank you's? Do I send "real" paper thank you notes to school? Send an e-Thank you---personalized or group? What is the right thing to do?

Not necessary. I have never received thank yous from a kids party unless they were given out at the party. And that only happened once...

If you don't have addresses to mail them then I'd just send them to school. We've gotten them home in dd's backpack a few times.

my son is 8... for his bday in november i just did texts or emails to thank everybody.. i had their numbers from when they RSVPd- so that night or the next day, i just sent them each a quick text saying " Glad so-and-so could come to Cole's party. He loves the (whatever)."
it took me like 2 minutes, and it just let them know that their gift didn't get lost or left at the part place or whatever.

Us either.
Never got one for school partries
i agree we dont send them and we dont get them and i wouldnt expect one.
i will say my favor tags thank them so to me thats more than enough

I would send "real" paper thank you cards in the back pack. We receive thank you cards about 50% of the time from classmates' parties, but I always make sure my DC give them out. I know they go straight in the garbage, but I still like to give them out.
To make it a little easier, I order ones on Amazon that are fill-in-the-blank. For example, Dear ____, Thank you for the ____. It is ____. Love, ____. My kids don't grumble as much when they do those.
