WW question

I'm planning on signing up for WW this weekend after I go shopping for healthier foods- I have not been on WW since 2013. So far I am seeing that a change is they consider lean meats now 0 pts. Anything else change really?

Not too much has changed except for all the zero point foods, chicken, fish, turkey, Greek yogurt, eggs, beans etc..Good luck, I'm a lifetime member who stays below goal. It's a really easy, healthy program.

Thanks! Was surprised to learn that eggs are free!

Do you have any tips for breakfasts that are lower in points? I know I am going to get sick of veggie omelets lol.

I'm pretty boring when it comes to breakfast! I basically eat eggs and veggies almost every single day! But I do also have Steel cut oats - 1c. for 4pts, with Fruit- 0pts. Plain Greek Yogurt - Opts, with fruit- Opts and I add a quarter cup of cereal that adds 1pt. Slice of Lite Rye Toast -1pt with a quarter of an Avocado - 3pts on top. Lite Rye Toast - 1pt, with 1 Tablespoon of Peanut butter- 3pts and 1/2 banana - 0pts.

Re: WW question

My go to is a soft boiled egg and piece of fruit, Zero points.

My other options are :
Fat free greek yogurt with frozen fruit - I let the fruit defrost in the yogurt and it gets sweetened from the fruit juices. Zero points !
Overnight oats with fruit and unsweetened almond milk. 4 points for 1/2 cup oats, 1 point for the almond milk, so 5 points total. It's filling and great for the day when I am carb craving.

647 Bread, if you can find it (Shop Rite carries it and I think King Kullen) is 1 point per slice and is in my opinion the best tasting and best textured "diet" bread out there. Toasts up nicely.

Dave's Good Seed Bread and 21 Whole Grain bread - thin sliced- is so delicious. 2 points per slice, lots of protein. Toasted with 1 tbsp peanut butter and a smashed banana, that's also a good filling 5 point breakfast for me.

What else is new - new weekly bonus points and the option to roll over 4 unused daily points into your weekly.
DH loves using the scanner when we food shop

Good luck !

Re: WW question

I use the WW oatmeal (microwavable cups) and add one beaten egg and one of those unsweetened applesauce containers, mix it all in and microwave it for 5 minutes...delicious muffin!

Re: WW question

I "discovered" Kodiak pancake mix.
It's high protein, 5 points for 1/2 cup mix. I add an egg to bump up the protein, a smashed banana and some cinnamon.
Makes 3 decent sized pancakes that are so filling.
I don't like syrup so I top the pancakes with unsweetened applesauce.

I made the muffin recipe on the box as well. Made half the recipe just to try it out, cut out the butter, reduced the sugar to 1/3 cup, and added 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce. I got 8 muffins out of it, at 3 points each. They are cupcake sized, not dry at all.
Just needs something to enhance the flavor.
I'll try them next with PB powder (shouldn't affect the point value) or chopped apples and cinnamon.

I tried the WW microwave muffin and did not like it at all. Weird texture and taste.
DH tried the microwave pancakes and he says they are ok. He likes the Kodiak ones better.

Thanks I have heard of Kodiak mix and have to try it. In the meantime I did find a WW pancake recipe that tastes fairly decent. I used 1/2 c FF greek yogurt, 1/2 c self rising flour, 1 egg, splash of vanilla, and cinnamon, added water to the consistency of pancake batter. I made 6 large pancakes and ate 3 of them for 3 points, I topped it with sugar free syrup and banana slices. Definitely fulfilled my pancake craving!
