When to send invites?
Party is the second week of August so I know it's too early to send them, but here is the catch...The party place can only accommodate 12 children. I would like to be able to invite other children if any of the initial 12 rsvp no. When would you send out the first batch of invites?

Re: When to send invites?
I usually say 6 weeks, but since it's the summer (summer schedules fill fast) and you have a second list I would do 8 weeks out.

Re: When to send invites?
I’m finding that if you send it out too soon, people don’t rsvp very fast. I guess bc they feel like they have so much time to do it. So I would do 6 weeks out, and do an early RSVP date, and then send out the remaining, as No’s come in.
My DDs party is July 7th, and I haven’t heard from the majority of people yet which is super annoying and the reason why I keep saying “never again” when it comes to parties and yet here I am .

This is true. You can send it out 2 months in advance, but that doesn't mean people will respond right away. It's annoying.

Re: When to send invites?
I would send no more than 6 weeks in advance with an early RSVP date. Ask the people you are close with if they are coming rather than waiting for their RSVP.

Very good point. I will send at the 6 week mark with an early RSVP and keep my fingers crossed.

When to send invites?
Th early rsvp date is the key. I dont understand why pple dont rsvp right away when they almost always know whether they are coming or not. For my daughters party after the due date a few Nos. Well no shit sherlock I figured as much,

Re: When to send invites?
I would also send 6 weeks out.
I did this for my DD 1st party which is tomorrow, gave an RSVP date of 3 weeks ago, and I had to ask so many people if they were coming . It's like you're dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't.

Re: When to send invites?
I honestly think you should send them now. Definitely do an early RSVP date. I was getting save the date texts for end of July parties in March/April. Summer is crazy and I think typical invite etiquette goes out the window.

Re: When to send invites?
My sons birthday party is Sunday August 5th at my house. I plan on sending them out this week. Its only a family party but I like to get things over with and not worry.

When to send invites?
I’ve already gotten invites for the first 3 weekends in Aug. I’m slacking because I just sent out the invites for dd’s Mid July party.

Re: When to send invites?
I sent DD's invites for a party this coming weekend (6/23) out on Memorial Day weekend. So less than a month's notice.
Every single person replied yes - and I wanted some no's.
So the theory that summer is busy and you have to send early, never really seemed to apply for her late June- last week of school, crazy stuff going on- birthday parties.
Maybe it's just the people I deal with . Maybe they have no life.
I sent my WEDDING invitations 2 months in advance. I'd never send a kiddy party invite that early. Nor would I even have a party booked that early.

Re: When to send invites?
Since you’re talking about a summer weekend, I think sending now is good. Now is when lots of people are filing their summer calendars and whatnot. It’s a busy time of year. You’re gonna be hunting people down for RSVPs either way.
