DOE October checks question

Since payroll is the 15th and last day of each month, why is our check this month on the 16th and not the Friday before?

Normally if the 15th falls on a weekend, we get paid the Friday before... I am stressing money this month BIG time

I'm not sure, but I feel like alot of times the money comes through earlier than the date they say. We get the retro in this check, so think of the positive!
