It's only natural to feel nervous. I remember I was terrified when we went through our home study. I remember them just asking us questions like why we wanted to adopt, questions about our families. Very basic stuff. You'll be fine! Good luck!

May I ask how did you start the process. We are wanting to adopt but do not have any idea as to where to start. Everything I read is so overwhelming.

It took me a lot of time before I moved to this stage.
Do you live on LI?
if yes you can join or at least attended a few support groups. FM me if you want more info
To start, you should start thinking about what type of adoption you want, private (usually newborns), domestic, international etc.
Do you want to work with an agency. if yes, start looking and interviewing agency's.
If private start interviewing lawyers, social worker.
Look at your finances and determine which way is best for you.
Its a lot of info to take in and is very overwhelming.
