Top of the Pops
Most of you won't be interested, but tonight a British Institution ended, Top of the Pops, which was THE pop music television show has ended after 42 years on the air!!! thats right, 42 years of Pop Music on the BBC.
Anyway, it was a sad day in Great Britain as we watched Jimmy Saville bid us farewell...
I remember watching Top of the Pops on a Thursday night in the summer of 1984, my parents took my sister and I backpacking around Europe for 2 months and I couldn't wait to get to England to see Duran Duran....ever since then I read about TOTP in all my import magazines that I used to get at Roosevelt Field Mall (remember the magazine store that is now the religious goods store on the first floor...) Now we will have to watch our music videos on one of the 5 MTV channels, the box or one of the 10/12 other music channels we have on the cable system...
Anyway, just wanted to share.

I can't believe it ended!! I remember going to the VERY same magazine shop to get my Smash Hits & getting all the celeb news from overseas.
