I lost my Father

a few months ago. And I have a question. I know I am thinking a bit into the future here, but when my parents anniversary comes next year (May 19), should we still celebrate it?? I don't know what to do for my mom. My DH and I were talkigna bout it and thinking of taking her out to dinner or something.

We shouldn't get her an annivesary card and/or gift, right? I mean is it still an anniversary if my Dad is no longer here.

Any advice on how to help her get throgh that day?
TIA,
Denise

I would follow your mother's lead with regards to spending the day with her or taking her out. She may want to be around family or she may want to be alone.

But we never gave my mother an anniversary card or gift after my father died.
