How do you write an obituary?

I'm kind of the writer of the family, so this is my task, which I am honored to do. I have scribbled some notes, but I could write a dozen pages. Any help?Chat Icon

Just include the basic information, (name, birth-death dates, how they passed, occupation, survived by) and then add a few things about their personality (hobbies, passions, descriptions of their views/feelings.) I know its hard to narrow it down, but once you write out everything, go through it and see if anything sounds repetitive. It is the hardest thing to do. Good luck Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Have you thought of looking in any of the papers for some ideas? I think that would be my first step.

Maybe glancing at a few to give you inspiration.Chat Icon Chat Icon
