Kathy- I assumed she would be putting me (us) on Clomid, but now I am not sure she ever said Clomid, but "medication". Did she specifically tell you Clomid?

Dr. Bray said I would use Fremara if my first 3 cycles of natural iui didnt produce a PG.

what time of day are you taking it? I was considering starting tonight to lessen the side effects...(rather than suffer through them during the day)

I found taking it right before I went to bed lessened the side effects.

I think you have to try it and see what works for you.
Yesterday was the first time I ever took it at night and my hot flashes were worse and I kept waking up from this aweful headache (which I still have). I prefer the moderate hot flashes and moodiness from taking it in the AM.

I've been taking it at night. I haven't slept well for the past 4 nights since taking it. I'm hot, even with the AC on, I toss and turn and I'm grumpy.

But I figured better at night than during the day when I'm standing in front of a group of people all day!!

I took it last night, and didn't notice any side effects. I'm tired today but that could be cause I went to bed at 1, was woken up at 5am by my kitten, then at 7 when Al called (he's travelling and forgot how early it was here) and then got up at 8...

I do have a slight headache though...

I have been having nasty hot flashes for the last three hours.
It's miserable. Seems to be worse this month than it has in the past.

I seriously believe that the side effects get worse with Clomid as you keep taking it. I noticed hardly anything at first...but the last two cycles I have been getting the worst hot flashes and I am a crabby b*tch

I think you are right!
Has anyone had any problems with their equilibrium?

I can't tell about the equilibrium because I'm usually off balance!!

I just posted a question on TTC, but I thought I would ask the "Clomid Club" this - what CD did you O on when you were on the Clomid???

before clomid I o'd on CD 17 fairly regularly. The first month I took clomid I o'd on CD 18 and the second month was CD 14. My LP was shorter my first month on it and longer the second month.
I guess my point is that it can make the body pretty wacky and I dont know if their is much reason to it.

I didn't ovulate at all before Clomid (I have PCOS)...while on Clomid I ovulated on either CD19, 20 or 21.

Okay - I've been off the Clomid since Wednesday, but the hot flashes have been SOOO BAD since I stopped.

I will be sitting in front of the computer feeling fine and then all of a sudden I feel like my insides are on fire. I start to sweat and my chest and face get flushed. It rushes from bottom to top.

It was kind of scary the first couple of times! Chat Icon

They say this goes away once you ovulate. I hope that's soon!!

I don't usually share too much, but I wanted to offer some support. We were TTC for 6 months before I went on Clomid 50mg last June. My OB had me start on CD3. I also charted on fertility friend and used OPK's. Also used over the counter Tussin cough medicine (NOT DM) to increase CM.
I had no side effects and one cycle did the trick. I got a BFP on 6/28/04 and our son was born on 2/11/05.
Hang in there everyone, and I hope you all have as much success as we did.
