We actually purchased our granite from a company from Long Island City. Unfortunately I don't have the name.

Does Silestone count? If so, we got it from Consumer's - - -- love it!

I like granite more - but Silestone is warrantied for 10 years - that's the only reason we went with it. Most places can't (or won't) warranty granite because it's a natural product, and as such, it can crack naturally.

I find it super-easy to clean with just soap and water (the more you wash it, the shinier it gets). With both surfaces, you have to be careful of super-hot plates/pots/pans.

If anyone has a different experience - don't hesitate to bash Silestone (we also got it because it was slightly cheaper than granite - and since this isn't my dream house, we just went with the more affordable product). Chat Icon

i think silestone is a great alternative to granite and more and more people are getting it. the colors are great and yes its more a bit durable then granite, i went with granite over silestone because i just thought the color granite i saw worked better in my kitchen also because i actually got a better deal on my granite then silestone and i couldnt pass it up

MDF

Granite also needs to be sealed every now and then because of the large pores it has. Silestone is very low maintenance
